1. As required by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, all aircraft must have owner’s name, address and AMA number attached to it. All pilots must have AMA insurance.
2. Aircraft sound level must not exceed 98 db at 9 feet.
3. Unlawful activities, illegal drugs or unauthorized weapons are not permitted.
4. You must be a regular or junior member and a "CERTIFIED PILOT" to fly regularly at this field.
5. A guest pilot may fly at our field 3 times before he or she must join the club. The Sodbuster member sponsoring a guest flyer is responsible for the guest’s actions.
6. Spectators and non-members may fly a member's aircraft if the member has control via a
"buddy box" system.
7. Spectators must stay out of the pit area. No smoking is allowed in the pit area.
8. All automobile parking and vehicular traffic shall be in approved areas only. DO NOT DRIVE OR PARK ON ANY OF THE SOD FARM AREAS FOR ANY REASON.
9. All trash shall be removed from the field and be properly disposed of.
10. Encourage cooperation, etiquette and good sportsmanship.
FLYING RULES
1. All AMA safety rules shall be followed. No flying allowed prior to 8:00AM.
2. NO FLY ZONES INCLUDE: Over pilots on the flight line, over the pit area, shelter, spectator area, parking area, south of the frontage road or over the farm yard North of the sod field.
3. NO TAXI ZONES: The area near the pit area.
4. You need to be a member of the club.
5. A maximum of four R/C aircraft shall be in the air at any one time. A fifth may be operating on the ground.
6. All flyers shall use some means of catching their excess fuel and avoid spills on the ground.
7. CRITICAL ISSUE: All pilots shall use the flight line while flying. All flight operations shall be controlled from the MARKED flight stations. TAKEOFFS ARE NOT TO BE EXECUTED NEAR TO OR DIRECTLY FROM THE PIT AREA.
8. OPERATIONAL PROTOCOL: Takeoffs and landings shall be in the runway area and into the wind. An operational flight pattern for orbiting the field and executing all landings shall be established and observed by all pilots. The orbit pattern shall be the same as that used for all takeoffs and landings.
Upon landing, All aircraft will taxi west of the fence pit divide line heading south.
9. OPERATIONAL PROTOCOL: Engine run-up and testing is to be performed using a run- up stand or in the run-up area.
10. To avoid flying into the sun, East pilot stations will generally be used in the AM, and West pilot stations in the PM.
11. No more than one other person may accompany a pilot while on the flight line.
12. Only the instructor may be with a student on the flight line.
13. The instructors are NOT RESPONSIBLE for any damages to the student aircraft.
14. Any accident resulting in damage to someone's aircraft should be worked out between the parties involved. If an agreement cannot be reached, the club board of directors will make a decision on the amount of damages (not to exceed $200). Compensation must be made within 30 days.
